In-School Day Treatment
What is Therapeutic Day Treatment? These are services provided in the child’s public school setting to address some of the unique needs of certain students. Opportunities within the school setting are used to provide support for anger management, impulse control, anxiety, and peer relations. School can help students with their social skills, problem-solving, organization and more. Students are often provided with individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and mediation. When appropriate, referrals can be made to other community services which may be able to meet the individual needs of the student. Day treatment services focus on the student’s strengths and abilities while reducing their risk factors, helping them to become more successful both in school and in their community.
